What Blogging Tools?

I am a frequent blogger. I honestly don’t know why but I simply love writing and sharing my thoughts with anyone. But in order to blog, sometimes I would have to search around for a Wireless hotspot so that I can login into my blog account and start posting my blog.

I have come across a few blogging tools along the way. What I’m currently using now is BlogJet. BlogJet is simple and straight forward offline / online blogging tool. I can start writing my blog while I’m offline and I can save it as a draft in my PC. I can even put up the photos, links and tags while offline. And when I found a wireless hotspot, or back in the office, all I have to do is click on publish and I’m done. This would come in handy when you want to blog quickly.

Other blogging tools that I’ve come across are Flock build-in Blog Tool, w.blogger, Qumana, ScribeFire and RocketPost.

I am downloading Qumana at the moment. It has the closest function as the BlogJet and best of all, it’s free. Oh yeah, BlogJet is a shareware so you have to buy the software, I’m on trial version. Same goes with RocketPost.

For this blog entry, I am trying out the ScribeFire software, which is an extension for Firefox browser and previously known as Performancing. What’s cool about ScribeFire is that it is a plugin for Firefox browser, means it’s easy to use and good functionality. It even have the FTP function so that I can upload photos easily.

W.Blogger is good, but it is user unfriendly for those who don’t know HTML. It is not a WYSIWYG editor like the rest. But still kicks a good punch for hardcore bloggers.

My other web browser is Flock. I love Flock. It’s based on Firefox, known as the social browser for all its build in functions such as Flickr, Blogging tools, Facebook and many other social websites. And its blogging tool is also considered good. I will consider it excellent when it has the FTP uploads functions.

There are a few criteria to look at when choosing a blogging tool:

  • WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get)
  • FTP upload
  • Text formatting
  • Easy setup
  • Blog site(s) compatibility.
  • Free or paid.

Personally, I like 3 of the tools. Flock, ScribeFire and Qumana. I used to really love BlogJet. But it has been giving me problems with text alignments when I publish a blog (in blogger, not wordpress). And too bad it’s not free too. But I still use it because of its user friendliness.

Well, if you feel like having a blogging tool, feel free to check out the links given. Cheers.

Slow day

At the moment, the internet is going very extremely slow in my office. I kept pinging the router and the ADSL modem from time to time and currently it is very unstable. It goes fast right after I reset the modem with active ping replies, then about half and hour later, there`s no ping replies anymore.

It could be the router problem, it could also be the modem problem. The router is quite new so my guess the modem is the one that was causing the internet to be unstable.

I certainly hope that the connection would be fine by Monday. And I’ve told my boss to get a new and more reliable router and ADSL modem. In the meantime, I hope to piggyback on a free WiFi from my house this weekend. At least I can update my blog and also make money.

Weekend Dish

It’s no secret that I love cooking. I cook almost everyday and I love whipping up new recipes for any type of dish. One of my signature dish would be the grilled dory fillet with asparagus.

I have reviewed this dish before in my (very) old blogsite here. So if you’re looking for the recipe, just follow the link.

Grilled Dory with Asparagus and Capsicum.

There’s no specific purpose of this blog entry. I just simply love this dish. Easy, quick and delicious. Not forgetting healthy too coz I only use olive oil. Go ahead and try it out. Satisfaction guaranteed.

As Light As Air

Oh wow!

I just saw something that made me LOVE Mac machines even more. Check it out.

Photos courtesy of apple.com

The MacBook Air was launched in conjunction with the Macworld 2008 recently. It is dubbed as the world’s thinnest notebook, and it can even fit in your normal A4 sized brown envelope. Best of all, no one will know that you’re carrying a Mac in that brown envelope. Actually that’s exactly what Steve Jobs did when he walked up on stage to reveal the MacBook Air.

Well Steve, you did it again.

If only it is affordable without having to starve all year. *sigh*

Dream on…

Turning Point

At some point of our life we make unforgivable mistakes. Mistakes that should never happen, or avoidable by own action. Well, I made that mistake…again. And this time I never forgive myself. I have learn never to do things without thinking of the possible consequences, let it be positive or negative, especially the negative.

Sorry just won’t heal it, sorry just won’t mend the wounds, sorry don’t mean anything…anymore.

The only way to make things right is doing the right things, saying honest words, expressing the true feelings and perhaps, showing the positive changes not only for others, but for my own.

Words can’t describe how low I’m feeling right now. How tiny I am in this world. How frustrated I am with myself.

So frustrated.

Now let this be my turning point. It’s time to get serious. Time to pick myself up and never make that stupid mistake again. Never.

Another Missing Girl - Sharlinie

Just wanna do my bit in searching for the missing 5 year old girl, Sharlinie Mohd Nasyar.

Keep a lookout folks.

I still remember the time when my ex-coach who is a foreigner from Canada told some of his friends to visit Malaysia. He said that Malaysia is a peaceful country and that his friends should feel safe here. His exact words were, “You can see that people are safe when they travel the streets, even at nights. Heck, children can walk around the streets alone in the middle of the night and still be safe.”

Well, those were his exact words, and that was once upon a time ago.

It is sad to see that people aren’t exactly safe anymore. What is happening with our country? Are these people going insane? What caused this to happen? I don’t have the answers to those questions. All I want is for the streets to be safe again, at least, safer.

After Nurin’s case, parents should be more aware of their children’s whereabouts. We don’t want this to happen again. Let’s help and locate Sharlinie and that she is saved.

Amin.
