What to Blog?

It was almost 10:30am in the morning, and I was still alone in the office. Most of my colleagues are still on their way to the office, and yes, they are very late.

Nonie did messaged me saying that she’s sending her sister to the college. So that’s fine with me. It’s becoming a trend in my office that we all have the opportunity to come late, as long as we get the work done. Yes it’s cool, but me being alone, is uncool (actually, I malas wanna answer all the incoming phone calls).

Ofis (1)

This is probably one of the days that I would prefer to go outside and just lepak somewhere. Right now, I prefer to be at home and continue my sleep. Looking out my room’s window, I can see the clear sky and nice weather. Now I’m too lazy to think about work. But work is what makes us human.

Ofis (3)

I’ll be heading down for lunch soon. After that, I’ll be very sleep. So it would be a good time to top-up my Kopi “O” Cap Kapal Api (that floating thing is the “uncang” thingie, NOT the Kapal Api).

Ofis (2)

I’m writing this blog just becoz I don’t have any idea on what to blog about. I’m having a Blogger’s block, just like writer’s block. Sheesh. It’s all Ron’s fault!

At least my blogsite is up-to-date.

East Coast

It’s been 7 years since the last time I travelled to the North East of Peninsular Malaysia. And how I missed the beautiful beaches of Terengganu and not to mention the keropok lekor. It’s just ain’t the same as the ones sold by the roadsides in KL or by the makcik selling pisang goreng. The original keropok lekor can only be found in Terengganu.

Anyway, that was not our destination. We went to Kota Bharu for the weekend, sending Geena off to the Maktab Perguruan Pengkalan Chepa. It’s been 5 days since we went there, but to me it seems like it was only yesterday that I was in Kota Bharu.

Our journey begins as early as 4 in the morning. After a quick wash up and a few more yawns, we started the journey towards the east coast.

We took the usual route towards east coast via Karak Highway and onto the new Lebuhraya Pantai Timur. It’s a good thing that they’ve finally completed the highway, if not, the journey will take a very long time.

After the first hundred kilometers, I suddenly felt too sleepy to drive. So we decided to stop at the rest area for a quick rest.

And Geena HAD to take a photo of me sleeping…sheesh!

After that brief nap (about half hour, is that brief?), we continued our journey. We were thinking of stopping again when we reach Kemaman, where they have a special stuffed crab dish. I had this dish everytime I visit Kemaman since I was a kid. Never missed it once. But too bad, we got there too early. Although the restaurant was opened, but the stuffed crabs weren’t ready to cook yet. Damn! So we had nasi lemak instead.

From Kemaman, we headed north towards Kuala Terengganu. Now this was my favourite area during the journey. Driving in Terengganu coast line will always bring me memories. I used to travel this particular road almost every month when my dad was working in Terengganu. The coast line has the best panoramic view among any part of Peninsular Malaysia. I love Terengganu. I will spend my holidays here one of these days.

The sea condition was rough, unsuitable for a quick swim. Darn!

The wind was very strong, almost blew me off my feet when I stepped out of the car.

Ok, we left KL at about 4:45am, we reached Kota Bharu at 3:40pm. That’s about 11 hours drive from KL! The total distance shown on my odometer was 650++ kilometers. Damn, that’s far. My ex-colleage told me that the usual hours she spent driving to Kota Bharu is only 8 hours. I guess that’s because she took another route via Gua Musang. Not a scenic route though. Another route would be coming from Gerik via Kuala Kangsar exit after Ipoh using the North-South Highway. But that’s way too far. I know this coz I took that route the last time.

Now I’m back in KL. But Geena remains in Kota Bharu. She will be there until the end of the year. If or when I feel like seeing her, I will take a flight there instead. Believe it or not, it is much cheaper to travel by air with all the petrol and toll prices.

Will continue again with my trip to Kota Bharu. Mostly with my dining experiences in Kelantan.

Newborn

I just received a good news from my best buddy of my other best buddy, Shahrul, that his wife Shakira has just delivered a healthy (and bouncing) baby boy last Sunday, 7th January 2007. I can tell that it was a happy moment for the new mummy and daddy. Muhammad Sharisz Mirza is the name given for their newborn.

I will be visiting them later this week. That reminds me, I have to get something for the baby too. I don’t have a photo of Sharisz at the moment. But my buddy Ron has the photo of Sharisz in his blog.

Once again, congratulations to Shah and Shakira. Now that among the 4 of us buddies, Shah is the first to be a daddy. Who will be next? Somehow I KNOW that the eldest among us will be the last, that leaves only between me and Ron. Hmmm…
